The film revolves around the life of a once successful film actress Mahi Khanna, whose career is on the decline. Though speculated to be based on the lives of yester year divas like Madhubala and Marilyn Monroe, Bhandarkar has denied the reports saying that the movie is a “contemporary film which reveals the underbelly of the movie industry and its well-kept secrets.” Bhandarkar said that he considers the movie his magnum opus. Aishwarya Rai Bachchan was cast to play the lead role of Mahi Khanna. The shooting of the film is currently postponed due to Rai's pregnancy. Though news about Kareena Kapoor replacing Aishwarya Rai is going around, UTV has categorically denied and clarified that no casting has been finalised for Heroine. After the Ajay Devgn-Konkona sen Sharma starrer, Atithi Tum Kab Jaaoge, director Ashwani Dhir is ready with his big budget entertainer, Son Of Sardaar. Along with the Ajay, Dhir has Sanjay Dutt, Sonakshi Sinha and Juhi Chawla adding to the madness. Watch the trailer and you will realise that the makers have a blockbuster hit in the making. Though there were no dozen flying cars, a la Rohit Shetty films, but SOS does have a lot of action and crowd pleasing gags.
Sonakshi Sinha seems to be at her uninhibited best in this revenge flick. She is seen dancing and generally acting rowdy like in her previous outing with Akshay Kumar, Rowdy Rathore. Only that she has got it better this time around. We are not sure if it was her co-stars who did the trick or her director, we liked seeing her having a ball. Clearly, Raaz 3 is a story about one-upmanship, where a film director (Emraan Hashmi) is torn between two superstars (Bipasha and Esha Gupta). The promo shows Esha, who is seemingly the love interest of Hashmi and a rising star, as an arch rival for the largely forgotten superstar Bipasha, who apparently plays a sex-doll for Hashmi. Obviously, Bips can’t stand Esha’s ever-growing popularity and stardom. That’s when black magic and voodoo is employed by the Bengali bombshell to destroy Esha. What follows thereafter is Hashmi’s relentless endeavour to save Esha’s soul from evil.

With a story as predictable as that, it will be interesting to see if Bhatt can craft an interesting film with his ‘unusual’ directorial skills. We were not impressed by the film’s poster and now the promo has managed to win our vote only for the visual aesthetics.
